,~ ~ 3~
COMPLIANCE WITH RULE 3
RECLAMATION PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Performance standards will be developed to establish reclamation goals and to provide
guidelines for evaluating the success of the site reclamation activities. The reclamation plan will
comply with Rule 3 of the Mined Land Reclamation Regulations, and will be preformed on the
affected lands as follows:
GRADING:
BackSlling may be performed in some areas to reduce slopes to no more than 2.1.
Adequate compaction will be performed to ensure stability of final regraded surface.
2. In areas where it is not practical to obtain a slope no steeper than 2:1 erosion control
bench terraces will be installed across the slope.
All backfilling and grading will be completed within 6 to 8 months after completion of
gravel mining in a designated phased area.
4. No refuse or acid forming nor toxic producing materials will be mined.
No auger or drill holes will remain.
Final slopes will be no steeper than 2:1 in gravel mined area.
7. Agricultural crop production is not a part of final reclamation.
WATER:
This operation will not appreciably disturb water quality or the prevailing hydrologic
balance of affected land and the surrounding area. Run off from the slopes to be mined
will be diverted into detention ponds along the West edge of the existing railroad bed. A
silt fence will be installed on the West boundary of the area to be mined.
a) There will be compliance with applicable Colorado water laws and regulations
regarding injury to existing water rights.
b) There will be compliance with applicable Federal and State water quality laws and
regulations.
