EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
Reclamation will consist of final shaping, applying the 2"-4" of topsoil
and replanting the site with grass species adaptable to this area. Those
grass species are Blue Grama, Western Wheatgrass and Buffalo Grass. The
mixture of these grasses in live seed per acre will be as follows:
Blue Grama -- 0.3 lbs. PLS (Pure Live Seed);
Western Wheatgrass -- 4.8 lbs. PLS; and
Buffalo Grass -- 1.1 lbs. PLS.
The area of the proposed gravel pit will be reclaimed in the following
manner: The subsoil or overburden will be stripped and spread over those
areas that have been mined and banks will be backsloped in a 3H:1V slope.
All work will be done on the contour to reduce wind and water erosion as
much as possible and a mulch of straw and manure will also be used to
prevent erosion by wind and water.
Topsoil will be replaced immediately prior to reseeding the disturbed areas.
Reseeding will be scheduled for late spring or early summer to take advantage
of rains that normally occur during this period of time. A mulch of straw,
crimped to protect seed and seedlings from wind and water erosion, will also
be used.
Shaping of the area will be as close to the original slopes as is possible
and no slope will exceed the 3:1 ratio.
EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
