Native (potential) Ve~a[ion <br />The aspect is open grassland. Llestern wheatgrass, needle-and- <br />thread, Indian ricegress, and native bluegrasses :hake up most <br />of the plant community, wish small percentages of blue grama <br />sedges, Junegrass, Scribner neeolagrass, yrecn needlegrass (in <br />places), and squirrel tail. Other grasses which may occur--but <br />generally in very small amounts are slender wheatgrass, mountain <br />muhly, slimstem muhly, three-awn and sand drepseeds. Forbs make• <br />up 10", or less. Pinang the most common fortis are eriogonum, loco, <br />lupine, groundsel, 4lyoming paintbrush, and globemallow. ',finter- <br />fat, fourwing saltbush, Green's or Douglas rabbitbrush, and <br />fringed sagebrush usually occur as scattered plants. Yucca may <br />be noticeably but makes up a small percent of the annual yield. <br />There Rtay be traces of spineless horsebrush, snakcweed, and <br />prickly pear. Scattered currant, gooseberry, or skunkbush sumac <br />may occur, especially on rocky inclusions within the site. <br />Note: This site differs from loamy Park by its general lack of Arizona <br />fescue and lower production.
