Woods water system which
was developed northwest of Fort Collins more than 90 years ago . T he I . C.
Woods is a carefully designed system of drainage lines and ~~ipe which
reclaimed hundreds of acres of otherwise useless ground. Our ownership
was confirmed in a Quiet Title law suit several years ago.
On December 18, 1945 , the system was awarded a water right for more
than 340 gallons per minute (550 acre feet annually) .The coin-t decree
awarded the system an unusual and very valuable lega:L status:
nontributary, independent of the river system. In 1990, that water
r13ti`t ES?S 3ppra;sea 3.t II^re that: ~`1, 3 E`n, QQ~ 3^_d it II_~s f'e F'Ortr};.m^re n^.~'?.
Western Mobile and its predecessor companies/owners have
systematically dug gravel pits and other excavations which have cut,
damaged, changed or plugged the I.C. Woods lines andpipes. Tkie company
continues to disregard our property rights and water rights . 7`he system
no longer collects and delivers the water as it historically did.
Not only has this interfered with the water right., it has
frustrated the historic land reclamation and has caused local. flooding
and seeping which the system originally prevented.
