These soils fit the concept; of the Cragola series, ercept that Cragola soils are
less than 20 inches deep to bedrock. Uepth to tedroc}: in this unit is about ]5
to 30 inches. The soils profiles where depth to bedrock is greater than 20 inches
are moderately deep variani.s of tt,e CY~agola series. The shallow and moderately
deep soils occur in a comp]ex pattern. Permeability is moderate, The average
annual precipitation is about 13 Snches.

• {11 Cragola, moderately deep Variant
Al--0 to 4 inches; light brown (~,SYR 6/4) stony loam, brown (7.5 YR 4/4)
moist; weak fine granular structure; soft, very friable, slightly sticky and non-
plastic; 25 percent gravel, 5 percent cobbles, 1 percent stones; violently effer-
vescent; moderately alkaline (pH 8,2); gradual smooth boundary.
Cca--4 to 24 inches; light brown (~.SYR 6~4) very gravelly loam, brown (7,5 YR
4/4) moist; weak medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, friable, slightly
sticky and slightly plastic; 30 percent gravel, 10 percent cobbles; violently effer-
vescent; moderately alkaline (pH 8.4 ); abrupt irregular boundary,
Cr--24 inches; sandstone.

Al--0 to 4 inches; light brown (7.5 YR 6/4) stony sandy clay loam, brown (9.5 YR
5/3) moist; weak fine granular structure; soft, friable, slightly sticky and nonplastlc;
30 percent gravel, 15 percent cobbles, 10 percent stones; strongly effervescent; mod-
erately alkaline (pH 8,2 ); ~olear smooth boundary.
• Cca--4 to E9 inches; light brown (7.5 YR 6/4) extremely gravelly loam, brown
(7,5 YR 5/4) moist; xeak medium subangular blocky structure; hard= friable; sticky
and slightly plastic; 50 pe:ccent gravel, 15 percent cobbles, 2 percent stones;
• violently effervescent; mod~arately alkaline (pH 8,4 ); abrupt irregular boundary.
Cr--19 to 24 inches; so:Ft sandstone.
G--Gypsum Iand
This is outcrops of gypsum rock or decomposed bypsum rock. This unit lacks soil
material on the surface :end Ss barren of vegetation.
K--Kim loam, 3 to 8 percent slopes.
This unit is located in •the valley bottom. The soils are formed Sn alluvium.
Depth to bedrock is greater than 60 inches. Permeability is moderate. The
average annual precipitation is about 13 inches.
