TYPE OF MINING OPERATION
The area encompases ten acres of private land west of
Phantom Canyon and south of Sixmile Creek approximately five miles
northeast of Canyon City, Fremont County, Colorado. Prior mining
has been done approximately one miles south o£ the quarry site on
• the south side of the ridge. The proposed quarry site is on the
north side of the ridge.

i The gypsum material is now exposed on the surface and e~ litt e~~
surface waste material will be disti~ed. ~
The material will be ripped by a dozer with a single J
shank upper and dozed to a central area to be designated as a
run-of-mine materi~sl stockpile. The ROM material will be fed to
a portable jaw cru:~her and reduced to a minus six inches. The
crusher product wial be hauled approximately 10 miles to an ex-
isting plant site for further processing. Exhibit B-1
Quarry egciipment will include a track type ripper-dozer,
• a front end loader, road grader and a mobile crushing unit.
