Unfortunately, the comments were received
after the Public Comment Period ended on July 21st, 2003. Therefore, per Rule 1.7.112)(a)
these comments cannot be accepted into the permit application record.
If a person wishes to become a party to the application and has not submitted written
support or objections to the application in a timely manner, they may still do so. Rule
2.6(1) (copy enclosed) requires a written petition to the Mined Land Reclamation Board for
party status. The Board will consider the petition for party status during the Formal
Hearing set to consider the application.
Staff has noted that the comments by you are mirrored in several other letters. Regardless
of whether you decide to petition for party status or not, most or all of the issues you cite
will be reviewed.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and
Geology, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, telephone no. 970.241.1 1 17.
Sincerely,
~/~• ~~2zvy~/ ll
G.
