2.05.5 POSTMINING LAND USE
Map 17, and Figure 17-1, show the postmining topography. After regrading and
vegetation, the proposed postmining land use is rangeland, and the prescribed revegetation
will greatly improve the site as a rangeland over the previous use as an abandoned mine
area. Also, the mild slopes will make the area more suitable as a rangeland than that
which existed prior to mining.
The sediment pond, several roads, shop building, storage building, concrete pads, water
tank, and permanent diversions will all remain after reclamation at the request of the
landowner. These structures will effectively enhance and support the postmining land use
of rangeland. Information about the above structures and facilities is detailed in Section
2.05.3(3), Mine Facilities, in the permit application.
EFMC has worked closely with the surface landowners during reclamation of the Mine
Site. The landowners have provided letters clearly stating their desires to retain the
facilities described above, and approval of the postmining topography. Copies of
landowner letters pertaining to retention of structures are included in Addendum E,
Landowner and Government Entity Contact Letters.

~~
533 Revised (TR-l7) January 1995
AP ~/s/9Y
