Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Permit #M-2005-071
Dear Mr. Shuey,
We are submitting this addendum to the Vibration Monitoring Plan previously submitted
by Revey Associates,Inc. for the Benson Brothers Red Shale Pit in order to comply with
the conditional approval of the Mined Land Reclamation board on May 10, 2006 and the
Board ruling on the Motion for Clarification on September 13, 2006.
After initial monitoring of vibrations on site to chazacterize attenuation of ground
motions generated by mechanical equipment operating at the Benson Brothers Red Shale
Quarry as proposed by Mr. Gordon Revey of Revey Associates, Inc., monitoring will
continue for 30 days by activating one automatic recording seismograph while
mechanical equipment is being operated in the quarry. It is understood that normal
crashing or ripping activity for a thirty day period may only be 3 to 5 days. The location
of this seismograph will be determined by Mr. Revey in consultation with Division of
Mining, Reclamation and Safety representatives. The seismograph and operation
instruction will be provided by Saza Nation of PreSeisTek, Inc. Data evaluation and
reporting will be accomplished as specified in the previously submitted plan.
Respectfully submitted,
/~
~~
Michael Ripp

19,'',1 ,'1k',LU err:: (v70) Ct.'h-"}tbl ~ e~ma'd: ccvrq:~F•'~aoLCOrn
