The pipe will not be more <br />than 8 inches in diameter, have a strength less than schedule 40 <br />steel pipe located near the roof but not closer than four fee[ <br />from a rib or on the centerline of the seal. The pipe will be <br />packed with gravel for at least Len feet or provided with a flame <br />arrester and the pipe ends closed with perforated caps. <br />Z. At least one seal (extreme up-dip seal) in each set of seals <br />shall have a surveillance tube 1/4" diameter copper with a valve, <br />Tube must be protected from crushing. <br />3. kfiere necessary, at least one 4" diameter water drainage pipe <br />will be installed (extreme down dip seal) in each set of seals. <br />The pipe will be located at the lowest elevation of the seal, end <br />the pipe will be corrosion resistant schedule 4D steel with capped <br />or valved end. <br />4. A pilaster shall be included in seal widths greater the 16 <br />feet and heights greater than 10 feet. <br />5. Blocks will be laid in a transverse pattern and these blocks <br />must be solid with minimt~ dimensions 8"x3"x16". Blocks must be <br />• mortared. The surface will be coated with mortar to provide a <br />good seal. <br />6.
