METHANE AND DUST CONTROL PRACTICES AT FACE AREAS (Cont.) <br /> <br />5. a) At least 90~ of the water sprays indicated for dust sup- <br />pression on each continuous miner shall have a flow rate of <br />one-half the manufacturer rated flow at minimum water pres- <br />sure. Venturi or Conventional sprays will be used utiliz- <br />ing orifice sizes of 1 to 5. <br />b) Roof and rib drills will be vacuum type dust suppression <br />systems, except the wet drilling Secoma roof drilling <br />system. <br />6. Wetting agents used are: <br />a) P E Plus by Wen-Don Corporation <br />b) DC-7 by Apollo Techn ologies <br />c) Dust Surfactant 4060 by Arco Mine Sciences <br />d) Dust allay by Wen-Don Corporation <br />. 7. One or more of the water sprays on a continuous miner will be <br />located so as to spray into the throat of the conveyor. <br />8. When using auxiliary fans, cutting depth will be a maximum of <br />20 feet beyond the last support and only two box cuts will be <br />used. Until the side water sprays advance inby the coal face <br />on box cut one, a curtain will be used from the rib to the con- <br />tinuous miner on the opposite entry side. This curtain will <br />also be used for all of box cut two, but again on the opposite <br />side of the entry.
