III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ~P~ ~ ~
• Doc Date:12/11/2001
5.0 SURFACE-WATER QUALITY
Samples were collected from active sites 001, 002, 011, 017 and S-1 during 2000.
Analytical results for these surface water samples are presented in Table C-1 (page C-25),
The more frequently measured parameters are presented with the first series of values
with the less frequent measured parameters being in two separate groups at the end of
Table C-1. NPDES sites 003, 005, 006, 008, 009, 010, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 019 and
020 had no discharge during 2000 and, therefore, no data are presented.
5.1 TSS
Figures C-5, C-7, C-9, C-ii and C-13 present plots of total suspended solids (TSS)
versus time for the sites 001, 002, 011, 017 and S-1, respectively. The 2000 TSS values
• are similar to those previously observed from sites NPDES 001 and NPDES 002, except
that there were no high values with the limited peak flows. Figure C-9 shows small TSS
values for site 011 in 2000. The TSS concentrations for sites 017 and S-1 were also small
in 2000. Plots of flow versus TSS for the same sites are presented in Figures C-6, C-8, C-
10, C-12 and C-14. As expected, a general increase in TSS for an increase in flow is seen
in these plots for the historical data from these sites with the 2000 data plotting on the
lower left portion of the graph due to low flows and small TSS for the limited- peak flows.
The highest flow for NPDES sites 001 and 002 were exceptions where the high flows
observed small TSS values, which shifted their plot to the right.
n
LJ
5-1
