The CDPHE intends [o issue, deny or inactivate Colorado Discharge <br />Pemtit System pemtits for the facilities listed below, pursuant to the Clean Water Act, and the Colorado Water Quality <br />Control Act. Teller Cotmty. <br />Public Meeting: September 25, 2002 <br />The Water Quality Control Division of the CDPHE has scheduled a Public Meetlng in Cripple Creek from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. on <br />Wednesday, September 25, 2002, to hear comments from interested parries on its intent to issue a renewal permit to Cripple <br />Creek and Victor Gold Mining Company (CC&V). The Division is scheduling this public meeting in anOdpation of substantlal <br />public interest in the draft permit. The draft permit would atrthorize two discharges to Arequa Gulch in the immediate vicinity <br />of CC&V's gold mining operation located outride of Victor, Colorado. <br />They are described as follows: <br />OOlA -This point is rotated approximately 3 feet downgradient of the sediment pond that discharges [o Arequa Gulch <br />downstream of the Valley Leach Facility (VLF). <br />0056 -This point, which is just slightly downgradient from OOlA, will be used for any precipitation-caused discharges from <br />the VLF which may pour either as a result of the annual precipitation falling on the VLF exceeding the annual evaporation or <br />as a result of a single precipitation event causing the 10-year, 24-hour storm intensity to be exceeded. <br />The meeting location is in the Centennial Building in Cripple Creek, CO.
