Long
Divrswn Director
RE: Spring Creek Gravel Pit (File No. M-94-097) Response to inquiry
dated October 26, 1994 ,
Dear Mr. Schleich:
Attached to this letter is a copy of the mining plan that is
currently proposed for the above referenced application as per your
request. Please be advised that this plan is only proposed; it is
not part of an approved permit application. The plan may be
changed at some point in the Division's adequacy review of the
application once that review begins.
At this time, Mr. Million's permit application for the Spring Creek
Gravel Pit is considered incomplete by the Division and he has been
so notified. The Division's adequacy review will not begin until
the application is considered complete.
Once the application is considered complete, Mr. Million will be
required to provide public notice of his application in the local
paper once per week for four successive weeks. The official end of
the public comment period for his application will not occur until
20 days after the last of the four public notices. Since the
notice process has not yet officially begun, obviously you have
considerable remaining time to submit any further comments you care
to make on the application.
As part of the application process, Mr. Million is also required to
place a copy of his application with the County Clerk or Recorder's
Office for public review. This copy should be of the complete
application and should also include any subsequent changes made as
a result of the Division's adequacy review. The posting of this
local copy of the application is intended to allow you and any
other individual to secure answers to most of your questions about
the proposed operation and to provide a basis for any comments or
objections.
The overall process of the Division's reaching a decision on a
complete application of the type submitted by Mr. Million is set by
statute to take place within 90 days of submittal unless an
