Igneous intrusives are known to have altered portions of coal deposits to
• the north of the Sun Coal property. Field data has shown no evidence of igneous
rock or coal alteration within the Sun Coal leases.
Overburden - Geochemical and Physical Appraisal
An overburden appraisal was conducted on two core samples, Map 4 [Hole lc
and Hole 22c (Table 2.04.6-3 )] by Front Range Lab, Inc., located in Fort
Collins, Colorado. All analyses were conducted using approved analytical proce-
dures, and Front Range's analytical report is presented in Appendix 2.04.6-1.
These procedures will be submitted if requested by CMLRD.
Coal - Geochemical and Physical Analysis
Coal taken from two locations, Map 4, in the Pinnacle seam was analyzed by
Hazen Research, Inc. Lab reports are presented in Table 2.04.6-4. The coal was
• obtained from core holes 42c and 44c. The sampling method involved retrieving
cores of the entire Pinnacle seam from each hole, logging the cores, and care-
fully wrapping them in plastic sleeves for shipment to the lab.

- 71 - (Rev. 5/86)
