i• <br />• <br /> <br />2.04.11 <br />TR-30 <br />f3 PPRo i,El} <br />3~~~~~Y <br />The effect the mine development will have on the endangered fish species <br />of the Colorado River Basin is usually determined by estimating the annual <br />depletion of water from the upper Colorado River caused by the mine <br />development. The consumptive use of water associated with the mine <br />includes water used for dust suppression, showers and personal use and <br />losses due to evaporation. <br />The following water depletion estimate is prepared for the changes proposed <br />by permit revision no. 6. This permit action will allow longwall mining at a <br />production rate not to exceed 6.0 million tons per year. <br />A. The sole water source for the Bowie No. 2 Mine is water pumped from <br />the Deer Trail Ditch. Water is pumped from the ditch into a 500,000 <br />gallon water tank. The Operator has the right to pump up to 0.5 cfs <br />(224.4 gpm) from the ditch. <br />B. Water Depletion by Category: <br />Road dust suppression -The haul road at the Bowie No. 2 Mine is paved, <br />therefore virtually no water is used for dust suppression on the haul road. <br />Other roads would include the road to the fan, coal stockpile area and the <br />road to the gob pile.
