The primary concern is the <br />continued loss of critical winter range along the White River. <br />As I tried to explain to Mr. Kirtland, the loss of 40 acres <br />of habitat to this mining operation is not necessarily critical. <br />However, this 40 acres combined with the other gravel pit less <br />than 0.5 miles away could create a problem for the deer in a hard <br />winter. With these pits so close together, it is critical that <br />the reclamation process be monitored closely, so that the winter <br />range is reclaimed as soon as possible. <br />Sin rely, <br />~~ <br />Mark W.
