EXHIBIT 50
Included within this Exhibit are all calculations regarding overburden
volumes and coal volumes for the Kerr North Mine Plan.
The procedure used was to calculate by geometric area methods the volume
of overburden and coal for each pit for pit depths of 300', 240', 180',
120' and 60'. Using the values for each, graphs were constructed to aid
in determining economic pit depths and the corresponding overburden and
coal volumes as well as strip ratios. Included are all rough calcula-
tions and rough maps used in making the determinations as well as the
graphs developed.
•
Steady state pit volumes for Pit l13 were calculated based upon the
above-described pit volume calculations and varied according to depth.
As above, all calculations and graphs regarding steady state pit volumes
are included herein.
Finally, several comparisons between steady state pit volumes, backfill
pit volumes, coal volumes, etc. were made with respect to pit depth.
These calculations are included at the end of this Exhibit.
The existing overburden stockpile volume and volume of the existing pit
have been determined by aerial photographic methods.
•
