Source: Sage Creek, .t tributary of the Bear or Yazapa River. <br />D. Appropriazion daze: Jtrae 30, 1908; <br /> Amotuu: 804 acre fat, of which Applicant owns 15/16 or 753.75•acre feet. <br />E. Historic Use: Irrigazion of appmximarely 425 acres located in Seaioac 21, 22, <br /> 26, 27 and 28. Township 6 North, Range 88 West, 6th P.M., Roun County. A <br /> map of the historically-irrigated loads was attached to the application as Exhibi[ <br /> 1. Water released from Sage Creek Reservoir is diverted az the Sage Creek <br /> Reservoir Outlet Ditch, together with direct flow water diverted under the Bales <br /> Ditch water right, described below. The dam of the Sage Creek Reservoir failed <br /> in 1984, and the resulting flood also washed out the diversion dam for the outlet <br /> ditch. Therefore, there were no recorded diversions after 1984. The diversion <br /> dam has recently been replaced, and drretx flow diversions have resumed. The <br /> reservoir dam haz not 'yet been rebuilt. Historically, the Sage Creek Reservoir <br /> and Sage Creek Reservoir Outlet Ditch have diverted an average of 332.7 acre <br /> fee[ per year, consisting of 309.7 acre feet of storage wazer and 23.1 acre feet <br /> of direct flow. Those diversions were suaunarized in Exhibits 2, 3 and 4, <br /> attached to the application. Historical irrigation consumptive use has been <br /> determined to have been an average of 210.9 acre feet per year. consisting of <br /> 198.6 acre feet of storage water and 12.3 acre feet of direct flow. The historical <br /> irrigation coruump[ivt: use is summarized in Exhibit 5, attached to the <br /> application. Historical return flows have been an average of 36% of the water <br /> diverted to irrigation, occurred primarily during the months of July, August and <br /> September, and were tribu[ary to Dry Creek, a tributary of the Yampa River. <br /> Historical evaporation from the reservoir has been an average of 48.7 acre feet <br /> per year: Applicant's 15!16 shaze of the historical evaporation has been an <br /> average of 45.6 acre fee[ per yeaz. The [oral historical consumptive use <br /> aztriburable to Applicant's water rights has therefore been 256.5 acre feet per <br /> yeaz. <br />Chan ces: <br />A.
