~ah~ ~ • ~
The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided far use by
the Land Reclamation Board in their consideration of a mining permit
for Robert D. Corey (Gravel) T49N, R9W, Section 19
The Colorado Division of Wildlife does hereby find, to the best of our
knowledge, that. the impact of the proposed mining operation on wildlife
will he
xx minor
moderate
major
Mine Location:
T49N, R9W, Section 19
Wildlife Species List: Cmay be attached)
Pheasant, gambels quail, cottontail rabbit, mourning dove, mule deer and numerous
small non-game birds and mammals inhabit the location and adjacent undeveloped
sites.
Endangered Species Impacted:
None
Assessment of Impact on Wildlife:
The location is an existing pit. Most impacts have already occurred.
Mine Reclamation Recommendations: (may be attached)
The greaswood, sagebrush and rabbitbrush community surrounding the pit are
important as cover for the wildlife species using the area. Minimizing dis-
turbances to this vegetation will reduce impacts on wildlife and assist with
future natural reclamation of the area. Protection of the small valleys west
of the pit will also provide buffer zones between the mining area and adjacent
agricultural activities. The hillsides along P1exican Gulch orovide excellent
cover for wildlife.
Prepared by
Rick Sherman & Dale Coven Title Wildlife Biol. & DWM
Data 1-B-87
