_~ 21
' EXHIBIT E
RECLAMATION PLAN

Upon completion of mining activities, overburden and spoils will be graded
1 into the corridor that has resulted from the extraction of gravel.
The bordering highwalls will be graded into gently sloping hills to
' harmonize with the surrounding topography. In order to minimize erosion
' and siltation during reclamation slopes greater than 2.1 will be avoided
where possible. Stockpiled topsoil will then be regraded to an average
' depth of 4" to 6" over the pit site and other areas that have been distrubed.
The site will [hen be furrowed and seed caill be broadcast at a rate as pre-
' scribed by the Soil Conservation Service.
The rates are as follows:

' % of Mix Drilled Rate
50% Side Oats Grama 4.5 lbs/ ac.
' 20% Western Wheatgrass 3.2
20% Russian Wildrye 2.0
'
10% Yellow Sweetclover .7
' Note: Use double these amounts if seed is broadcast rather than drilled.
' A mulch of 4000 lbs/acre of clean straw or hay should also be applied
after seeding. Poor seeding success is likely without a protective mulch.
' A mulch as prescribed above will also be applied after seeding.
-- -
' l e developed spring will provide irrigation for the seeding.Ji'he
irrigation will continue until a hardy vegetation cover is attained.
