DEPARTM~T OF NAT III Illllllllllll Ill
D Mnmr I'xa on, E,CUibve DvcU 999
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
DAVID C. SHELTON Director
Ric hartl D. Lamm
Governor
April 5, 1983
tlr. Ron Walker
Schmidt-Tiago Construction Company
2635 Delta Drive
Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910
Re: Christian Pits 1 and 2 - File Nos. 77-557 and 77-558; merged into 82-155
Dear Mr. Walker:
As I am sure you are aware, the tyro Christian Pit areas (old file nos. 77-557
and 77-558) have been merged into a new Christian Pit permit (file no. 82-155)
that covers a total of 373 acres. Your new permit was approved on October 28,
1982 and issued on November 26, 1982 (although the orioinal 1978 dates are
retained on the new document). This permit takes into account the fact that
the 1978 permit boundaries have been exceeded on both Christian Pit areas
and corrects this problem. However, your annual reports should reflect your
adherence to the new permit conditions, as opposed to last year's annual
report that, quite commendably, admitted the lack of adherence to the existing
permits and set the stage for the new permit application.
Our notification procedures have been corrected such that you will no longer
receive requests for annual fees and reports for permit numbers 77-557 and
77-558. You only need respond to requests for permit number 82-155, in the
future.
I suggest that you review the new, revised Christian Pit permit and send in
materials that will tie in your annual report for these areas to the existing
permit. There are maps that reflect the new permit document that could be
used for this permit; or perhaps a revision to the present annual reports
will be sufficient.
Since he prepared the permit application (for permit number 82-155), you may
wish to contact Mr. Mark Heffner in this matter, I will also be available if
you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Mark S.
