MAPPING UNIT 6CF - IRIGUL CHANNERY LOAM <br />• 9 TO 50 PERCENT SLOPES <br />This is a shallow, well-drained soil on upland ridges and mountain <br />slopes between 7800 to 8700 feet elevation. It formed in residuum <br />from sandstone and marlstone. The average annual precipitation <br />is about 20 inches and comes mostly as snow; the average annual <br />air temperature is about 40 degrees F., and the average frost- <br />free period is less than 75 days. <br />Refer to Mapping Unit 4G for description of soil properties and <br />classification. <br />CLASSIFICATION OF MAJOR COMPONENTS <br />Irigul channery loam, 9 to 50 percent slopes; Family Loamy - <br />skeletal, Mixed Litchic Cryoborolls. <br />• <br />INCLUSIONS <br />Included within this soil mapping unit are areas of soils that <br />are greater than 10 inches deep to bedrock, some small areas of <br />soils with light colored surfaces, and some small areas of Rock <br />Outcrop. <br />MAPPING UNIT 7CD - SILAS LOAM <br />3 TO 12 PERCENT SLOPES <br />This deep, well-drained soil occurs on mountain valley bottoms <br />between 7600-8300 feet elevation, mixed alluvium, mainly from <br />sandstone and marlstone.
