Descriptions and ~entiel of soil areas . <br />~~ '. 1. Coldcreek-Rock outcrop - Sutler area <br />Deep and moderately deep, strongly eloping to extremely steep, well <br />to somewhat excessively drained soils Sormed in material weathered Trom <br />acid igneous rock. <br />These soils are in the foothill and mountain areas in the western <br />part of the survey area. <br />This soil area occupies about 2 percent of the survey area. About <br />30 percent of the area is Coldcreek soils, 30 percent Rock outcrop, and <br />25 percent Sutler soils. The remaining 15 percent is soils of minor <br />extent. <br />Coldcreek soil is deep and well drained and has hard fractured bedrock <br />at a depth of more than 40 inches. The Rock outcrop is Pikes Peak granite <br />and mixed acid igneous rock. The Sutler soil is moderately deep, some- <br />what excessively drained and is over gnus (highly weathered granite at <br />a depth of 20 to ly0 inches. <br />The minor soils in this area are the somewhat excessively drained <br />Broadmoor soils, the well drained Tolman soil and some stony sandy loam <br />soils over granite bedrock at depths of 10 to 20 inches. <br />This soil area is used for home-sites, livectocY, grszing, recreation, <br />wildlife habitat, and woodland. <br /> <br />~.
