<br />r~ <br />0~6 <br />:o~~ember 29, 1473 <br />Evans, Paterson, Torbet 6 Briggs <br />222 dining Exchange Building <br />Colorado Springs, Colorado 8D902 <br />ATTEC:TI0;1: Mr. Paul Evans <br />Gentlemen: <br />~ 1 O 1 ?- 5 <br />In response to your telephone request, this letter will review <br />our report program for revegetation of the Snider'Quarry urea :;ith general <br />estimates of the costs. <br />The recoratended Snider Quarry revegetation program vrill be on <br />three different site conditions: berm, benches and faces_ The berm will <br />be constructed during the first tero years of quarry operation_ This <br />berm will be located below the disturbed area and will be revegetated <br />to improve the aesthetic quality of the vie~u_ Commencing in the third <br />year, grass-legume seedings would b2 planted without irrigation and <br />would let the natural vegetation succession occut. Topsoil has been <br />stockpiled and will be used on the berm in a lay~r from four to six <br />inches deep. <br />The quarry benches and faces caill be constructed during the <br />first three years of operation. The landscapirb and revegetation of <br />these areas ~:ould be started in the third year with completion in the <br />fifth year. The maintenance program consisting of fertilization and <br />renovation crould continue from the third year through the seventh year <br />and possibly longer depending on the resul[s. <br />On the benches and faces the grass-legume seedings will be <br />interspersed ceith native trees and shrubs. Ttie successE~il est:.blishTent <br />of the trees ~~rould be enhanced by irrigation during the first tyro or three <br />years. It is also recorc^ended that the trees and shrubs ba fenced initially <br />so as to be protected from damage by browsing erildlife. <br />EXHIBIT B <br />
