PART I
C. FC)CIIddT15
- 7. A "24 hour ca~osite" sample is a «mbination of at least eight
(8) sample aliquots of at least 100 milliliters, collected at
equally spaari intervals during the operating hours of a facility
over atwenty-four (24) hour period. For volatile pollutants,
aliquots must be c®bined in the laboratory immediately before
analysis. The ang~osite must be flaw proportional; either the
time interval between eadi aliquot or the volume of each aliquot
must be prroportional to either the wastewater or effluent flaw at
the time of sampling or the total wastewater or effluent flow
since the collection of the previous aliquot. Aliquots may be
collected mamially or automatically.
J - In the event an oil sheen or floating oil is obsessed, a grab sample
shall be collected, analyzed, aryl reported on the appropriate Q~t.
In addition, corrective action shall be taken immediately to mitigate
the diG-name of oil and grease. A description of the wrrective
action taken should be included with the DMR.
g/ -[there, based on a minirman of 5 samples, the permittee demonstrates to
the satisfaction of the Water Quality Control Division that the level
of total dissolved solids (TT1S) in the effluent can be calculated
based upon the level of electrical conductivity, the permittee may
~~ ~*p and report TDS in terms of electrical conductivity.
h, - TLLS shall be sampled on a monthly basis until six samples have been
analyzed. A report of 'T1o Disd~atge" shall rot be ootarted as one of
the six samplers. 'Thereafter, monitories shall ,~,t;*n~ on a
quarterly basis. Following submittal of the initial six sets of
monthly data, the Division shall deter+*;*+a whether the permittee is
required to submit a report ~~sing salt removal in aooordance
with Regulations For Ia~lementation of the Colorado River Salinity
StarCl~r,ie Thrauc~r the NPDFS Permit Program, 3.10.0. If the salinity
report is requited, the Divisicm shall so advise the permittee by
letter and the report shall be submitted within 180 days.
i/ -This parameter is subject to "Nonca~liarx:e Notification"
re~„rwronrc of Part II.A.3.(b)(v) of this permit.
]/ - Prooedllre for daterm;*+~KJ settleable solids is contained In 40 CFR
• 434.64. Tire method detection limit for ,mao,rin4 settleable solids
under this part shall be 0.4 ml/1.
]S/ - Should a precipitation event occur which is greater than the 10-year,
24-has event, the permittee shall submit rain gauge or other
appropriate dcr.~n++o*++-ation in order for an exemption to be claimed.
In liar of suc3r doaanPntation, limitations contained in Part
I.A.1.(b), shall apply. Docimp~tation shall be reported as an
attachment to the Discharge MonitorirxY Report for the appropriate
.. period.
•-,~ Code: i - 16 Date: 1-84, sEVised 10-88, revised 12-88
