Seneca II Mine
Technical Revision to Permit No. C-80-005
Peabody Coal Company, with business address at 1300 South Yale,
Flagstaff, Arizona 86001 has filed with the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Division an application for Technical Revision to its Seneca
II Mine, Permit No. C-80-005. The Revision includes: 1) a reduction in
monitoring frequency at two wells from monthly sampling to semiannual
sampling; 2) elimination of the commitment to verify the HVMO model at
Seneca II. Due to limitations of the HYMO model in drainage design,
Peabody has replaced HYMO with SEDIMOT II, .a well documented model for
drainage design.
The Seneca II Kline is located approximately 6 miles southeast of the two
of Hayden, Colorado in Sections 26, 27, 34, 35, and 36 of T6N, R87W;
Sections 1, 2, 3, 11, 12, and 13 of T5N, R87W; and Section 7, T5N, R86W.
The USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle map, Milner, contains the described area.
A copy of the Revision is available for public inspection at the Routt
County Courthouse, located at 522 Lincoln Avenue, Steamboat Springs,
Colorado 80477.
