Lunan:
Enclosed, please find the approval for the 007 pond design criteria submitted
by Peabody Coal Company on August 21, 1986.
All concerns raised in John Doerfer's August 25, 1986 memo, which you have
received, have been satisfied. Page 7-11-4, which contains Tables 1 and 2,
has been incorporated into the original submittal. In addition, the Division
has noted that as stated on page 7-11-47, Pond 007 will be cleaned out when
sediment storage in the pond is less than 3.54 acre-feet (one HUSLE sediment
volume). Monitoring for sediment levels will be conducted by sounding, field
Surveying, aerial mapping or other appropriate techniques.
The Division will publish a notice of the proposed decision in the Steamboat
Pilot, most likely on Thursday, September 11, 1986. If a Board hearing is not
requested, the decision will become final ten (10) days after publication.
If you have questions or comments, please contact me.
Sincerely, ~~
c~ li
Steven Ren_ ne
Hydrologist
SR/dim
Enclosure(s)
cc: Mike Savage
3368E
•
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
