EXHIBIT G
Water Information
The Tanabe Pit property is located in Adams County near the intersection of Old Brighton Road
and 112'h Avenue. The site lies approximately one mile east of the South Platte River. Highway
85 lies to the east of [he site while 1 l2'h Avenue forms the northern boundary of the property.
The Fulton Ditch crosses the far northwest comer of the permit area. The proposed mining
operation will have minor impacts on the Soulh Platte River from depletions due to evaporation
and operational losses. The impacts can be mitigated without injury to senior water rights.
Exhibit Cincludes apre-mining plan that shows water resources on the property. The South
Platte River passes approximately one mile west of the Tanabe Pit property. The Fulton Ditch
crosses the far northwest corner of the permit area. There will be no impacts to the Fulton Ditch
from the mittittg. No other active irrigation ditches occur on the property.
The mining of the Tanabe Pit property will be completed in two phases and last approximately 5
years. As the material is removed, reclamation will follow with the construction of the reservoir
liner proceeding immediately behind. In the long term, the reclanration of the mine will create
one lined lake with an approximate area of 43 acres.
The operation may consist of sand acid gravel washing onsite to process small amounts of the
material. Most of the material will be conveyed across Old Brighton Road [o an existing
permitted sand and gravel mining operation for aggregate washing and concrete and asphalt
production.
The site will be dry mined, and groundwater will only be exposed in [he dewatering trench.
Prior to mining, a dewatering trench will be excavated around the perimeter of the mining cells.
Groundwater will flow along the trench by gravity and will be routed across Old Brighton Road
into a separate existing DMG Permit area.
The project lies in the valley fill aquifer of the South Platte River. This is an unconfined alluvial
aquifer and consists of the sand and gravel that is being mined. The depth to groundwater ranges
from approximately 20' to 30' depending on the elevation of the underlying bedrock. The
proposed mining site lies well above the principal aquifers of [he non-tributary Denver Basin.
The property is located outside the 100-year floodplain of the South Platte River.
It is estimated that sand and gravel underlying the overburden is approximately 25' thick. The
underlying bedrock is the Denver Formation and is composed of shale and claystone layers that
extend to greater depths.
Water Consumptive Use
Water use at the Tanabe Pit property will include evaporation from exposed groundwater and
water pumped for dust control of haul roads and stockpiles.
Tmmbe Pu
DMG 1l?
