~1 Abstract
I .
. In March and April of this year, as required by the Bureau of Land
Management, a periodic noise study was conducted at the Colorado
Westmoreland Orchard Valley Mine in Paonia, Colorado. Measurements were
taken at previously established test sites in order to monitor changes that
may have occurred in ambient conditions due to variations in operating pro-
cedures and/or wear induced machinery noise. Throughout this report ex-
fisting baseline data are presented for comparison with recent measurements.
Two sites were monitored for 24 hours with a Metrosonics db 602 Sound
Level Analyzer to determine community noise data, i.e. L 's, L and L
r: eq n dn'
L A Bruel and Kjaer 2209 Precision Sound Level Meter and an Ivie IE-30A
I_ were used to obtain weighted sound levels and octave characteristics of
L.,
machinery noise.
~• A data comparison is presented in the following table:
r
`/.
j•7
l !
L.:
f'
L
i,
_~
