4.2.1 Site M-4, Red Top Farm
C; Sampling began at 4:00 p.m., March 26, and continued for 40 hours. A
representative 24-hour segment was extracted and used for the Ldn calcu-
lation. The 24 hour Ldn on March 27, 1980 was calculated from hourly LeQ
values to be 51 dBA. This value i s comparable to Ldn values determined in
September, 1978 and January, 1919 when Ldn's of 52 and 48 dBA were calcu-
lated respectively. The Ldn value derived from September, 1979 measurement
data was 58 dBA.
C During the week in which meas urements were taken mine trucks were
C operating during the 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. shift. No increases in L9o
data were observed indicating that baseline noise conditions in the area of

-~ 4.2.2 Site M-2, Section Corner
Sampling at Section Corner Site M-2 began at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday,
y April 20th and continued for 24 hours. During that time period local winds
? exceeded 10 mph for a total of 30 minutes. The Ldn value calculated for

site M-2 was 50 dBA which represents an imperceptible increment of 1 d6
since last September. The Ldn calculated for September, 1978 was 52 dBA.
Hourly Leq, L,, L,o, and Leo values measured at the section corner
1 site are presented in Figures la and Ib respectively. The high LeQ, and
L, ,and L,o values are associated with equipment operator proximity.
