C e) Silo Area - Sites S-1, 2, 3
I • A11 silo measurements were taken with the R-1 conveyor and
t~i
first baghouse operating. At no time during monitoring was the
LI fan at the base of the first silo operating. Measurement results
were:
Site 5-1
I' An increase of only 1 d6 was observed in the A-weighted
value. The sound level at 31 Hz increased 10 dB while that
at 500 Hz decreased 6 dB. Above 1 KHz the octave band signa-

(~ ture is similar to that derived last September. On March 26,
I
, data was recorded which revealed an intermittent 12 d8 fluc-

C tuation which Impact personnel possibly attributed to the R-1
takeup. Such fluctuations may be due to variations in the
• conveyor load. Sound levels at 2 KHz fluctuated from 36 to
48 d8. These fluctuations were prominent above the other
background noise.
Site 5-2
The R-1 takeup is directly above this measurement site.

y Sound increases of 11 dB and 8 dB were observed at the 31.5
and 63 Hz octave bands respectively, however, the overall
~;
.~ A-weighted sound level decreased 3 dBA from last September
when it was measured to be 64 dBA.
Site 5-3
A-weighted sound levels have decreased 8 dB from last
_ September's values. Examination of the octave band data
indicates a particularly noticeable decrease of 14 dB at
_ •
