Please respond to my question 3. in my letter of August 19, 1983 for
all five remaining pits. A good outline snap that includes all
activities such as necessary terraces or diversions is especially
lacking for the Kochis and West Pits.
4. Please reference my comment nwnber 4. in my letter of August 19, 1983
,and respond for any of the pits as you feel necessary.
5. Please answer questions 5a.-e. for the ponds connected with the
Kochis and Ragains Pits.
6. Is the estimated life of these operations indetenninate (as is the
case for the other three pits)?
Exhibit D
1. Water information
a. Are the Perry, Jacklich and West Pits to oe mined and reclaimed
as dry yravel pits? If not, any exposed water must be coped
with properly in the mining and reclamation plans.
b. The ponds in the Kochis and Ragains Pits must be explained more
fully. My comnents about this under Exhibits 8 and C should be
referenced.
c. Is water to be used in any of these three operations? If so,
how much is to be used, and what is the water right involved?
Exhibit E'
1. How will the water pits (ponds) in the Kochis and Ragains Pits be
incorporated into the reclamation plan?
2. Please answer my question 2. in my letter of Nuyust 19, 1983 relating
to the use of topsoil in reclamation for the five remaining pits.
3. Reference my comment nwnber 4. in my letter of August 19, 1983 and
relate it to the five remaining pits.
Exhibit H
1. All five remaining applications have an accompanying perfonnance
warranty that is acceptable, with one exception. Each warranty will
need to have the leyal description for the pit added as Exhibit A. I
will du this for each operation (unless I get an objection to this
procedure from you).
