EXHIBIT G - Water loformation
The proposed operation is not expected to directly affect the surface and ground water resowces in
and around the proposed permit area. The proposed permit azea has no stock ponds, streams,
ditches or reservoirs, which receive drainage and/or runoff from storm events. Due to low
groundwater elevations the proposed operation is anticipated to be a "dry pit" operation.
Overburden will be placed as backfill into the excavated azeas, re-graded mrd reclaimed to
resemble the previous topography at a lower elevation. Previous site operations and the adjacent
gravel mining operations have historically been dry pit operations.
2. No swface water or groundwater will be intercepted or exposed. Silt fences, straw bales and/or
berms will be used in active mining areas to contain any stormwaters as necessary to the active
phase area. A General Permit Application for Stormwa[erDischarges Associated with Sand and
Grave] Production Operations is not necessary as all stormwater will be 100% contained. This has
been confirmed via telephone by Mr. Nathan Moore CDPHE -Water Qaality Division. Any
stormwa[ers would be wholly contained onsite and would consist of direct precipitation.
3. The groundwater table will no[ be impacted by this operation. There aze no wells in the proposed
area or within 200 feet of the proposed area of operations. No water rights will be impacted by this
operation in compliance with Colorado water laws and regulations.
4. Mobile contract crushing operators will supply their own water needs for dust abatement via
tanker truck from offsite sowces. An estimated daily volume of 1000 to 3000 gallons may be
required for dust suppression in the operations area, the active phase area and/or on the main haul
and temporary spw roads.
5. There are two PVC water pipelines crossing the permit area which supply water to a small stock
pond and misc. watering troughs south and east (outside of) of the proposed permit azea. Water is
transferred to the concrete cistem (shown on the map) from the landowners irrigated pastwe
ditches across County Road 613 to the north. From the cistem the water is conveyed via separate
2 inch and 4 inch PVC pipelines to other azeas of the landowner's property. The piping wilt be
moved and replaced as necessary as excavation operations move across the piping.
