2006 Ted Franciscotti <br />Gravel Pit #1 <br />Section III <br />Ecological Site Information <br />The plant community of the gavel pit area is a mix of grasses and forts primarily with <br />some shrub species. Grasses account for 85-90% of the plant community while shrubs <br />and forts make up the balance. The gasses present on this site include blue gama, <br />western wheatgrass, sideoats gams, little bluestem, galleta and needle-and-thread. <br />Forts and shrub community occurring are: winter fat, snakeweed, Indian paintbrush, <br />prairie clover, and other assorted forts can be present. <br />
