Temporary storage of soil and topsoil, 20-feet by 45-feet. (0.02 Acres) <br />3. Approximately 300-feet of 10-foot wide temporary roadway. (0.07 Acres) <br />• <br />This 0.13 acre disturbance should not have an adverse effect on the sediment loading in <br />the long pond. Soil loss or erosion is measured in tons per acre per year. Page 4-19iii <br />indicates the reclaimed area will loose 0.31 tons per acre per year. The crop management <br />factor included in this number must be set at one (1) for a bare area. Therefore, a newly <br />disturbed area will lose 11.2 tons per acre until vegetation is established. Application of <br />this soil loss factorto the disturbed area resulting from the disposal activity results in a loss <br />of 1.46 (0.13 X 11.2) tons per year which equates to about one cubic yard of dirt per year. <br />This one cubic yard of dirt will settle out in the long pond and theoretically occupy an area <br />20-feet square by 0.9 inches deep. <br />The disposal site is located above the long pond so all surface run-off from the site will be <br />collected in the long pond. The disposal site is about 10-feet above the elevation of the <br />long pond and is therefore well above the water table. Any seepage (leachate) from the <br />disposal site would likely be intercepted by the long pond. <br />4-66k <br />11 /99 <br />
