CAM-Colorado LLC <br />Deaz Mr. Stover: <br />This is in response to your verbal request on February 13, 2006 for authorization of <br />existing ground water monitoring wells located on BLM-managed land outside federal <br />coat leases associated with McClane and Munger Canyon Mines. The wells are utilized <br />for monitoring the alluvial water zone along Munger Creek and East Salt Creek in <br />accordance with DMG mine pemut requirements. The wells located on BLM are <br />designated GW-1, GW-3, GW-5, GW-7, and GW-8 (see enclosed map). You indicated <br />the wells. consist of 2-inch casing and range in depth from about 10 to 50 feet. Access is <br />by foot travel from existing roads. It is our understanding that the wells designated <br />GW-1, GW-3, and GW-5 will be utilized for long-term monitoring, and wells GW-7 and <br />GW-8 will be plugged. The wells being retained will be included in the DMG mine <br />permit for McClane and Munger Canyon. <br />.'Authorization is hereby given to access and maintain the referenced ground water <br />monitoring wells until such time they aze no longer needed, in accordance with mine <br />permit requirements and the following stipulations: <br />1. No vehicles aze allowed off existing access roads. <br />2. Based on the shallow depth of the aquifer, the monitoring wells proposed for <br />plugging shall be plugged with cement for the entire length of the hole. The well <br />location may be mazked in accordance with DMG requirements. <br />3. Contact BLM when the wells aze plugged. The operator is responsible for any <br />reclamation that may be required. <br />
