~1
' WATER INFORMATION
It is not expected that this operation will directly affect any
surface water system, with the exception
that is located on the west side of the of an irrigation di
access road into tch
the
Division of Wildlife property. This ditch has in the past, on an
intermittent basis, provided irrigation water to the Wal ker
' Wildlife Area. This ditch appears to exist without the benefit of
an actual easement. United has committed to the Division of
Wildlife to reroute the ditch around to west perimeter of the
' affected area, adjacent to the rerouted access road into the
wildlife area.
' The excavation will be conducted to an elevation below the level of
the natural ground water. This ground water is an underground
tributary to the Colorado River. As it will be a requirement to
maintain a dewatered situation at the site during mining
' operations, it will be necessary to discharge ground water from the
site. This will require a NPDES Permit from the Water quality
Control Division of The Colorado Department of Health.
' This permit has been applied for and discharges will not occur
prior to receiving such a permit.
' No production water will be required at this site.
i 1

1

t

7
