4.14.6 Regrading or Stabilizing Rills and Gullies
To provide for the regrading and stabilization of any rills and gullies, the following plan will be used.
• 1. The reclaimed area will be inspected concurrently with the pond inspection. Areas showing
evidence of rill and gully formation will be recorded and mapped for inventory purposes. A report of
the inspection results will be kept on file per Rule 5.02.4
2. The mapped areas will be repaired using materials on site for fill. This work will be performed in
the fall, (September to November) depending on weather conditions. The repaired areas will be hand
seeded with the approve seed mix.
3. To prevent future development of rills and /or gullies, velocity dissipaters may be installed at the
beginning and along the erosion path as required. Examples of energy dissipaters are straw bales held
in place with rebar and vegetation clumps, i.e., grass or small shrubs. If vegetation clumps aze used the
disturbed areas will be leveled by hand and seeded with the approved mix. Vegetation masses will be
taken from within the permit area using hand methods.. Maintenance work will be included in the
appropriate inspection report.

Renewal #3 02/08/2000 120
