REVISED
Reclamation Plan. The reclamation plan selected
calls for the area to be a private recreation area which
will encourage habitation by waterfowl, songbirds and fish,
as well as small mammals and amphibians.
During the mining operation all slopes will be
properly graded, and at least one small island will be created;
hopefully, three islands can be built. After each mining
stage, revegetation will be carried out in the manner prescribed
by the U. S. Soil Conservation Service (see Exhibit H). The
island(s) will be revegetated, as well as other areas, so that
the best possible habitat for wildlife can be provided and
maintained.
The report of the Wildlife Division (see Exhibit F)
lists the impact on the area as minor, bttt it is our hope
that when reclamation is completed, habitat for wildlife will
be enhanced. The Wildlife Department suggests a buffer
between the river and the lake, but since the affected lands
are not on the river, and the operator does not own the
property located thereon, such a buffer cannot be provided.
Land area (including island(s)) will be about
3.15 acres, and the water area will be about 9.36 acres
(includes 2.81 acre lake area previously existing).
8
