• EXHIBIT L
RECLAMATION COS (REVISED January 7, 1998)
This reclamation cost estimate in based on the assumption that
there will be no more that 20.00 acres t disturbed at any one time.
It also assumes, that when it comes time to resoil the SLAB rock area
that only 12 inches of soil would be spread over the disturbed area.
The remaining overburden piles would be graded and seeded. At that
time we will have to respread 17,424 cubic yards of topsoil. The time
when the most bank sloping would be necessary is either at the begin-
ning of mining when the excavated area would have slope on all four
sides that needed sloping. On a 15 ac. area this would mean there are
2975 linear feet (LFT) around the exterior of the hole. Using the
numbers shown on the typical sketch and cross section attached and
assuming that since sloping would run concurrent with mining approxi-
mately 408 of the cut/fill work would be done and 358 of the rock fill
would be left. The table below outlines the various areas of distur-
bance at that time. A D-9 dozer will be used to do the shaping and
resoiling. The revegetation cost figure for the slab rock area
includes fertilizer, grass seed, mulch and drilling costs. The
revegetation cost for the surface rock area is only covers raking,
fertilizer and seed. The current tree cover is 238 of the site so
using 670 trees with a 608 survival rate so 400 per ac. remain we need
to plant 2600 on 3.92 acres of the 15.0 ac.
STAGE TOTAL SOIL DEPTH
NEEDS RES OILING 1 O.BO 1 2°
REVEGETATION SLAB AREA 1 S.O^
R EVEG STATION SURFACE AREA 5.00
SLOPE CUT/FILL 2468 LINEAR FEET
SLOPE ROCK FILL Bfi5 LINEAR FEET
RES OIL @ 1 2~ 1 7,424 CUBIC YARO5
EST/MATED UN/T COSTS FOR RECLAMAT/ON /TEMS:
Unit Cost
1.
