Groundwater Monitoring. Groundwater monitoring at wells HGDALI, HGDAL2 and HGDAL3
were conducted semiannually during the high and low flow periods, as specified for
surface water, through November 1995. As described in the revisions presented in
TR-O1, after four sampling and analytical events were completed for site HGDAL3,
then the monitoring at wells HGDALI and HGDAL2 was discontinued (as noted above,
HGTI abandoned monitor wells HGDAI.1 and HGDAL2 during 2005). Since November 1995,
only well HGDAL3 has been monitored as part of the groundwater monitoring program.
It has been monitored semiannually for water levels, field water quality parameters
(pH, temperature, and conductivity) and the parameter suite presented in Table 13-
2, Groundwater Parameter List. The groundwater parameter list has also been
revised. Monitoring for barium, molybdenum, phosphate, ammonia and silver will be
discontinued. These parameters are not listed in the groundwater agricultural
standards set forth by the CDPHE in Regulation 41, Basic Standards for Groundwater.
Sample analyses will be performed by a contract laboratory certif_ed by the State
of Colorado.
Colorado Wastewater Discharge Permit System (WPS) Monitoring. The CDPS permit for
the Hayden Gulch Loadout facility (COG-850008), was transferred from HGCC to HGTI .
on November 6, 1992. HGTI successfully renewed the CDPS permit i.n 1997, with an
effective date of July 1, 1997. HGTI recently renewed the permit, with a renewal
date affective of July 1, 2002. A copy of the WPS permit is presented in Appendix
13-1. The required CDPS monitoring at Outfalls 001 (Truck Loop Pond) and 002 (Rail
Loop Pond) (see Exhibit 12-2) will be performed in accordance with the terms and
cond%tions contained in WPS Permit No. COG-850008 (see Appendix 13-1}.

TR-06 10 Revised OS/OS
