SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that the CDMG will be provided with map(s)
illusVating the location of topsoil stockpiles constructed during the previous year and the approximate
locations for stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year (see Map(s) 3 in Section
3.0).
These maps were initially revised in 1990 and have been submitted annually in Appendix W updating the
report and map series, as per TR-48. Each update includes the locations of existing stockpiles. Since
1990, Trapper has provided the approximate topsoil volumes (cyds) for existing stockpiles. Table 5-1
lists all existing stockpiles with their identification nomenGature, coordinates (based on the approximate
center of the pile), acres and consVuction date and volume; which is updated annually.
At the end of 2001 there were 88 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 196.9 acres and storing
approximately 4,164,000 cubic yards of salvaged topsoil.
During 2001, Trapper constructed three new stockpiles and added topsoil to six existing piles.
Additionally, a portion of one existing pile was removed for topsoil replacement and three existing piles
were totally depleted for topsoil replacement.
The proposed approximate locations (as shown on Map(s) 3 in Section 3.0) for topsoil stockpiling in
2002 may exceed the actual number that will be constructed. Proposed topsoil stockpiles and the
number of piles consVucted are dependent upon the field conditions that are encountered each
reGamation season. Additionally, particular piles maybe depleted from or added to in order to maintain
a cost effective salvage or replacement program during a particular year.
• ~ aroz
~on~cwors~daso~
•
