I own the ground immediately ed~acent, and surrounding the <br />area sought to be mined on two sides. I wish to express my Strang objections <br />to such opeections so long es I own this ground. let me explain my objections. <br />This mining operation is solely upon Natipnal Forest oround, but my ground <br />would be severely impacted by a minino operation. I own all oP the edJecent <br />ground to thla possible obJectionable operation, and I am contemplating selling <br />the aeme,inesmuch es a potential ski Brea is being put together a short distance <br />south oP my land. The land I own is suitable for residential or second home <br />cites. If the ground adjacent to my land were to became a mining operation, <br />then my potontial for sale would be jeopardized. To reach the potential mining <br />Brea, the opplicent would have Co drive hie trucks, etc. tight though the middle <br />of my property, consisting oP about 170 acres. I hove not given him an easement <br />nor would I. He would not have any water eveilable to h!s operation. I own the <br />only water that would flow close to the mining operation. mr. mellette celled <br />me shout the 4th day of December making inquiry about my lend, end I indicated <br />that I was going to sell the same. He indicated that ha, end his family, were <br />very interested in purchasing the same, end would I eend to him a map oP the <br />area so ha could see how my land related to the eras that he sold he had purchased <br />from a former miner. I sent him the map, which might be the map that ha has <br />filed with your office. In my letter to him, I indicated that I was getting - <br />inquiries from others about buying my land, but iP he were really interested, I <br />would give him him the first opportunity to purchase the same. I have not re- <br />ceived a reply from him. I thinly that his contacting me and ~nhowing 'e greet <br />interact' in my property might have bean a ruse to get me not to file an obJection <br />until the time had peseed wherein I could make an objection. This I do not in- <br />tend to fooled by. If he wants to buy my property, thon he mina the adjacent <br />area to his hearts content provided that, of course, he follows the rules oP this <br />board. <br />IAr, mellette has never sent to me a copy of the notice required by this <br />board, only a brief letter received by me about a week ago, and than not telling <br />hardly anything about his possible operation. He then called me wanting to buy <br />the property. So long as I own the ground, I will obJect to hie, ar anyone else, <br />mining next to my property, The only eccaee to hie potential site, either from e <br />public road or from some Porm of primetive toed, must come through my property, <br />end I will not tolerate his trespassing upon my property.
