Some of these do not fit the series as officially described and may be • <br />considered as a taxadjunct until further defined. For example, Sky lick <br />soils as mapped are darker than officially described lOYR 2/1 moist <br />versus lOYR 4/2 and have more or less uniform textures to sandstone bed- <br />rock at 30-60 inches. <br />Following are the map units recognized and mapped in the lease area. <br />Because of the strongly rolly, hilly to steep topography, elevation, <br />differences over 1500 feet, and mixed exposures of shales and sandstones, <br />the soils vary considerably in texture, depth, and content of sandstone <br />or shale fragments. The map units serve to bring out these differences. <br />However, the complexity of soil differences within short distances in <br />places makes impractical pure separations and each map unit will have <br />minor inclusions of other soils. <br />Estimated topsoil materials recovery depths are shown for alI map units <br />in Table 6, page 35; Table 7, page 40; and Table 8, pages 44-46. <br />I <br />L_J <br /> <br />-10- <br />
