~• The C unit, of the Middle Sandstone, ranges from 240 to 280 feet <br />above the F seam, and ranges from 30 to 90 feet thick. It is generally a <br />fine to very fine grained lithic arenite, with a clayey, and commonly <br />calcareous matrix. The matrix, and numerous shale partings substantially <br />decrease the effective porosity and permeability of the unit. <br />The A unit, although not areally extensive in terms of the total <br />permit area, ranges from 75 to 100 feet above the F seam, and is 35 to 50 <br />feet thick. Naturally, there are additional units that can act, locally, <br />as aquifers. An example is the E Sandstone, which is apparently a fluvial <br />deposit that meanders through the area. <br />_- <br />r_ <br />
