The development of new <br />habitat takes place in winter when the ground is frozen. This <br />procedure results in shrubs breaking at their base and minimal <br />ground disturbance. This approach is felt to be successful but no <br />hazd data have been collected to date (personal communication, <br />Mr. Dale Thompson, Reclamation Specialist at the Colowyo Mine, <br />13 February 1981).
