2.0 FISH AND WII.DLiFE PLAN - APPAI~NT OJS'~IEI~7dESS REVIEW & RESPQVSES
Q (a)(1) Describe the design of the fences and submit a map showing where
fences will be located.
R The design of all fence associated with the Meeker Area Mines
Complex and the Milk Creek Loadout is shown is Figure 0-1.
The design is approved by BLM for sheep-tight fence which
minimizes entanglement of big game. The location of existing
fence for the Rienau No. 2 Mine is shown on Exhibit C-2
(ME 7958-08) contained in the interim Underground and Reclama-
tion Plans Rienau No. 2 Mine already on file with OSM and CMLR.
The location of existing fence for the other three mines is shown
oa the Northern No. 1 Mine Fence Map, Exhibit 0-4 enclosed in
the accompanying map pocket. The planned location of Milk Creek
• Loadout fence bas not been finalized but can reasonably be
expected to be on the permit boundary shown on Exhibit X-1
Delineation of Permit and Disturbed Area (ME-8202-11-2/8) in
v. VIII, Chapter X: Milk Creek Railroad Loadout.
Q In accordance with 30 CFR 817.97(d)(1); address the subject of haul
and access road locations to determine whether, using best current
technology, such roads might be located to minimize impact on
large game animals migrating along the Curtis Creek Corridor.
Since the channelized segment of Curtis Creek is expected to
remain in place for 40-50 yeazs, address the subject of enhancing
streamside vegetation for small birds and mammals by planting
bushes and trees (in accordance with 30 CFR 817.95(d)(5)).
•
o-il
~:-ir _ _
