Ducummun- (970)-726-5388
Section 12, Twp 9 South, Rng 78 West, 6th P.M., Park County
CONDITIONS FOR APPROVAL
^ The proposed operation does not anticipate exposing groundwater. Therefore, exposure of ground
water must not occur during or after mining operations.
® The proposed operation will consume ground water by: ®evaporation, ®dust control, ®reclamation,
® water removed in the mined product, ®processing, ^ other:
According to the information submitted, the proposed operations will not expose any additional water
surface acreage within the reclamation permit boundary that was not already exposed prior to January 1,
1981. Accordingly, no replacements are proposed to be made for evaporation for this gravel pit
operation.
^ Prior to approving a well permit, the applicant must conduct a field inspection of the site and document
the locations of all wells within 600 feet of the permit area. The applicant must then obtain a waiver of
objection from all well owners with wells within 600 feet of the permit area or request a hearing before
the State Engineer.
^ The proposed operation may have potential impact on existing water rights near the project location.
Applicant needs to demonstrate that the proposed project will not alter or impact the historic operation of
existing water rights.
® The applicant has indicated that water for processing, dust control and material handling will come from
two sources that Ducummun Trust own and has available on site. These two sources are identified as
follows: "Alma Point of Diversion for the Columbia No. 1 Ditch" (96CW149-5cfs) and "Columbia No. 1
Ditch" (CA-1636, Priority no. 9-60cfs) that were decreed for mining purposes on Alma placers.
® The purpose of this amendment is to increase gravel production area, impound reclamation plan and
allow asphalt and cement production.
COMMENTS: If storm water runoff is intercepted by this operation and is not diverted or captured in priority, it
must be released to the stream system within 72 hours. This may require a discharge permit from CDPHE-
WOCD. Otherwise, the operator will need to make replacements for evaporation.
The applicant may contact the State Engineer's Office with any questions.
