• WESTERN SLOPE FLAGSTONE
QUARRY NO. 2
STORM WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN
pollutants sources from materials stockpiles, ruptured or turned over port-a-johns or fuel
and equipment storage will be entirely contained by the diversion ditches and retention
pond.
C. SWMP ADMINISTRATOR
Rudy Fontanari, the owner/operator of Western Slope Flagstone Quarry No. 2, shall be
the storm water management plan administrator.
D. MATERIALS HANDLING AND SPILL PREVENTION
• The Conditional Use Permit approved for the rip-rap quarry limits the heavy equipment
storage to 16 vehicles, although refueling of equipment and maintenance will take place
within the contained quarry site. Further management practices will insure that during
fluid transfer, engine and hydraulic oil changes, plastic sheets will be used as ground
cloths to prevent contact of petroleum products with virgin soils exposed to storm water.
No fuels or hydraulic fluid storage will be at the site except during extraction periods (3
months/year) . Fueling will normally be by transfer from the fueling truck directly into the
equipment fuel tanks.
E. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL
Storm water from the rip/rap quarry site is entirely retained and will not contribute any
sediment to any drainage system. Measures have been taken with the use of water bars,
sediment ponds and check dams to prevent as much as possible any erosion and
resulting sediment originating on the haul/access roads from entering state waters
(Colorado River).
• 2
